Horror Movie About God And Demons
I watched "The Reaping" with hubby on last Sunday. I thought this might be interesting and scary by judging at the poster. Actually the poster that I saw in cinema is different, with a girl in white dressed standing in the middle. At first, we were sitting straight up on our seats. But then, we shrunk and our bodies were getting lower and lower, with hands covering half of our eyes. Our friends who went along teased us for being so coward. LOL.... No ugly features or faces appeared in the movie actually, but hubby and I were just being frightened by the audio sound system. So silly ya....
At the end of the movie, we were all scratching our heads because we don't even understand what the story is about. Who is the little girl actually? Why are the villagers so mean? Why is the lady ~ Berry Beautiful, as the main actress here being chosen for all this? A lot of ??? in my head. You all may not know what I'm mumbling about if you haven't watched it.
Read the synopsis below to get the rough story of it:-
* Her faith shaken by a family tragedy from which she was never quite able to fully recover, a professor of theology from Louisiana State University moonlighting as a debunker of unexplained religious phenomena finds herself faced with an apocalyptic series of events that seem to reflect the ten plagues of Exodus in director Stephen Hopkins' Southern gothic chiller. The terrified citizens of Haven, LA have been beset by swarms of locusts and watched as rivers turned to blood. As if that wasn't enough to put the fear of God into any Bible-reading Christian, ominous rumors of a local swamp cult have left many of the small town citizens turning to prayer for fear that the end is finally nigh. Enter Katherine Winter (Hilary Swank), a skeptical myth-buster and renowned theology scholar with a special knack for spotting religious trickery. Though at first exceedingly confident that she will uncover a human component behind the otherworldly occurrences, Katherine quickly learns that just because one doesn't believe in the supernatural doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't exist. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide *
That main actress is unbelievable bold to explore the horror village in any means to get results for her scientific research. You can read details on the movie and enjoy some of the photos in http://thereapingmovie.warnerbros.com .
