I went for two big shots in cinema with hubby and friends. The first one, "
10,000 BC" under
Warner Bros product last week while The "
Spiderwick Chronicles"of
Nickelodeon movie on Tuesday. You can see those creatures during ice age in the previous movie. It is an extremely huge production with great spending in shooting this movie. Click
here for short preview.
Storyline:
From director Roland Emmerich comes a sweeping odyssey into a mythical age of prophesies and gods, when spirits rule the land and mighty mammoths shake the earth. In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter, D'Leh (Steven Strait), has found his heart's passion - the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). When a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh is forced to lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. Driven by destiny, the unlikely band of warriors must battle saber-tooth tigers and prehistoric predators and, at their heroic journey's end, they uncover a Lost Civilization. Their ultimate fate lies in an empire beyond imagination, where great pyramids reach into the skies. Here they will take their stand against a powerful god who has brutally enslaved their people.
Yes, I have been thrilled by part of its action excitement. However, I felt a bit bored in the beginning. Well, the below story is likely cute and is suitable for children over 6 years. This movie is quite exciting too, but the ending is quite absurd to me. The evil monster was easily killed within seconds just because it turned itself into a bird and was eaten by a small creature. When you watch it, you may understand what I mean.
Storyline:
When Mrs. Grace (Mary-Louise Parker) and her three Graces move into a creaky country house with a mysterious past and spooky present, the present is unwrapped in “The Spiderwick Chronicles” - a slightly scary, creature-y, optic pleasure for 10-year-and-older fans of fantasy.Settling into this unsettling house are twins Jared (Freddie Highmore) and Simon (Freddie Highmore), and their bossy sister (Sarah Bolger), who likes to fence and foil her brothers. While she’s out to lunge, Jared discovers a foreboding old book of magic. Then, in random order, a honey-munching 9-inch imp living in the walls warns Jared of trouble. An evil monster comes after the book. The monster’s army of lizardy-goblins besieges the house. A talking pig climbs a tree. A flying griffon swoops around. A great aunt’s surprised. The book’s 125-year old author shows up. There’s tension, excitement, hobgoblins and sprites. Since Director Mark Waters makes the unbelievable believable, well, almost, don’t be surprised if children watching “The Spiderwick Chronicles” are soon goblin’ it up.
